Der Likr zeichnet sich durch sein exotisches Aroma von Orangen aus. Der Likr ist fruchtig, bitter, herb und s zugleich. Ein Triple Sec wird traditionell aus den therischen len von getrockneten Orangenschalen hergestellt und weist meistens einen hheren Alkoholgehalt als die Curacao Likre auf. Bekannt wurde der Triple Sec im 19. Jahrhundert vor allem in Frankreich.
